Vidal Sassoon once said that a good haircut is “…….about geometry and keeping things simple… But it all comes back to the shape of the face.”
Wise words from a time icon and master of the precision cut.

What is precision cutting?
Precision cutting is a cutting technique that, apart from being precise in its execution of lines and angles, respects the natural movement of the hair. Natural hair growth, the way the hair naturally “sits” away from the scalp, hair texture, and hair density are just a few factors taken into account by the precision cutter.

The precision cutter will sculpt the haircut to bring out the shape of the client’s head, so the style compliments at every angle.

While precision cutting creates the internal structure and overall shape of the haircut, personalization creates the “flow” of the haircut. A seasoned precision cutter will know, just by looking at a head of hair, just where to “thin out”, which blunt line to soften and which layers to “chip into” to encourage the hair to sit desirably on its own.

The “personalization” of the haircut is what sets a precision haircut apart from an average haircut. A haircut done to accentuate the natural “movement” and quirks of the hair will last longer and grow out better than one where the mere ”frame of the desired haircut is created without the support of a strong internal structure. Styling products and a good blow wave enhances a good precision cut, but are by no means necessary as a good precision haircut brings out the best in the hair naturally.
